be_blissSat Nam, Hello!  I am inspired to share a very special meditation this week that can be used to offer healing energy to yourself or others.   If you know someone  (including yourself) who needs healing on any level, physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, this meditation can help, it is a rare gem.   When you meditate on behalf of someone else’s healing, you are also healed in the process, what a win-win!  It’s a nice way to also feel like you can ‘do’ something for your loved one in their time of need.  Check out www.spiritvoyage.com for many musical variations for the Siri Gaitri Mantra.  A couple of my favorites are Snatam Kaur’s version and Gurudass Singh and Kaur’s from Circle of Light, which is the one I will use on the video.   Have fun, chant this often and help heal our planet.

Meditation of the Week:  Healing with the Siri Gaitri Mantra

Mudra: Elbows are tucked into the ribs, palms are flat, facing up, fingers are together and the thumbs are spread.

Mantra:  Raa Maa Daa Saa, Saa Say So Hung (pull in navel on So and Hung)  Inhale between repetitions.  Pronunciate each word carefully.  Chant for 11-31 minutes.

Raa=Sun  Maa=Moon  Daa=Earth  Saa=Infinity Say=Thou So Hung=I am thou.  A healing mantra which brings balance and stimulate the kundalini flow for healing.

To End:  Inhale deep and hold the breath, visualize the person you wish to heal (and yourself).  See them healthy, safe, strong and surrounded by white light.  Exhale.  Inhale, repeat the hold offer prayer.  Then lift your arms and shake them out.

Until Next Time, May The Long Time Sun Shine Upon You, Raji

Sat Nam Hello! If viewing from Facebook, please click on ‘view original post’ icon for the full meal deal. Thanks for tuning in to check out this week’s meditation. The meditation I will share this week is Sat Kriya, one of the foundations of Kundalini Yoga.   Sat Kriya balances and strengthens the entire lower triangle, the lower chakras.    This kriya directly works with stimulating the kundalini energy.  This energy can be described as your full human potential.  When I am pressed for time, a couple of minutes of Sat Kriya raises the energy up enough to get me through my day with some ‘siss bang boom’!! For those familiar with Sat Kriya,  get right to it or  skip down to the second section and second video for details on the ‘Sat Kriya Workout’; my new favorite breakfast.

Meditation of the Week- Sat Kriya

Posture-Sit on the heels with the arms extended up over the head, palms together. The fingers are interlaced and the index fingers extend up. For women, cross the left thumb in front of the right thumb, men- opposite.

Mantra- Chant SAT as you pull in the navel point. Chant NAM as you relax and release the navel. Sat Nam means truth is my identity.

Continue for 3-31 minutes. (BUILD SLOWLY!!)

To end- Inhale the breath, apply mulbandh (lift up on the muscles of the pelvic floor) allow the energy to move up the spine. Exhale, hole the breath out, apply mulbandh. Inhale and relax. Always rest on back after Sat Kriya for equal amount of time as the kriya was done.

Weekly from Be Bliss Yoga March 30, 2009

Sat Nam, Hello.  This year, according to numerology is a ’9′ year.  The number 9 represents the Subtle Body, our body’s ability to tap into intuition and a sense of knowing and feeling all.  It is a time of bringing things into completion and wrapping up loose ends.  Clearing out the stuff that is no longer serving you.  This meditation will help you carry you through this 2009.  Give it a try, my husband and I are in the middle of a 40 day meditation with this one!  Most meditations are great to do anytime, this one is best in the evening.

Isht Sodhana Mantra Kriya (lecture available from www.kriteachings.org )

Posture- Easy pose, straight spine

Mudra- Hands in Gian Mudra (thumb and forefinger touch)

Eyes- 9/10ths closed, focus at the nose

Mantra- Dharti Hai (relates to the earth)  visualize from navel down GRAY

Akash Hai (relates to the ethers) visualize from brow point up BLUE (still see Gray also)

Guru Ram Das Hai (compassion of the heart) visualize bright WHITE at heart center (and gray and blue)

To End- Inhale, hold the breath, hold the visualization of the gray of the earth, blue of the ethers, white of the heart, exhale the breath.  Inhale, stretch arms up over head, shake arms, relax.

Have fun with this,  share it with a friend.   Until next week, May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You, Raji
